I’m a GRANDMA!!!!! Yesterday my son and his girlfriend had a beautiful baby girl, 7 pounds, 1 ½ ounces, 20 inches long! She wouldn’t drop, so they did a C-section and Mom & baby are doing great. My son hasn’t quit grinning and he actually had tears in his eyes at one point. (Even as he was saying how he really wanted a boy, but this would do) What a fake!

Everyone had predicted a boy, including the doctor (the ultrasound didn’t help, she had her legs crossed hiding the goodies!) The only ones who stuck with their prediction of a girl were the 2 grandmas! And we now have exclusive bragging rights! Everyone (the room was packed yesterday evening) was admonished to wash their hands before touching the baby. We grandmas agreed, even though we followed instructions, that grandmas don’t HAVE germs!

We’ve had a rough week so this is the happy ending to some troubles and stress. My daughter had to have emergency surgery last week…scared us all, but she is coming along fine. Just needs some time to recuperate and rest. My niece came up to visit with her boyfriend & baby so we had some much needed family time. And I finally got to see my baby sister’s new house out in the country. And I mean country. (More on that next time)

Well, I have to get ready to visit my son and his new family and hold my grandbaby. Gee, I really do love saying that!!!

More later!
